It dosn't let me report a bug under Ubuntu
I have been trying to fill out a bug report at https:/
But, every time I click on "Report a bug" it takes me to https:/
I am trying to request a package to be included in Ubuntu Natty, for this I am following the MOTU guide which states:
"To get a package into Ubuntu, please file a bug in Launchpad and make sure it has the tag needs-packaging. Please mention where to get the source for it and which license it is under. An example request is here. Make sure you check which packages have already been requested. "
Source: https:/
What should I do?

Can you give the output of:
lsb_release -a;uname -a
What app are you trying to log a bug with?

lsb_release -a:
No LSB modules are available.
Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description: Ubuntu 10.10
Release: 10.10

Hello actionparsnip. Thank you for the fast reply.
I am trying to request a package for a game called "Super Mario War" (smw) which is released under GPL.
The MOTU page mentions that I have to fill a bug report with a tag "needs-packaging"
I'd log a bug with linux with:
ubuntu-bug linux

Hi actionparsnip.
The trouble with ubuntu-bug linux, is that, my "bug" report is not an actual "bug" report but a feature request or "wish-list"
I want to add my bug-report/package request to this list:
https:/

The problem seems to lie in that I have not selected a package for a bug report. But, then this package/application is not in Launchpad... [yet]
What package should I choose then?
You're right that "linux" would not be the package for this. Perhaps "ubuntu-meta". But it would be good if someone who knows for sure could confirm that.

Wait, on the NewPackages page there is a place where it says 'please file a bug on Launchpad' which when you click on it will open the proper bug filing page.
It will open
https:/
which is the correct location and doesn't redirect you to the Wiki page.

Btw. don't add any package name, packaging requests are against 'Ubuntu' - without packagename. That's why the wiki page supplies the bug filing link, as apport is useless for packaging requests.

Thanks Philip Muškovac, that solved my question.
