Domain name needs changing, what all do I do?

Asked by Bob Baker Jr

Basically I set up my Ubunter server 10.04 with the domain name as kelinacorp.com, and it worked just fine, that is until I realized that I cannot use that domain name when I go to start my business as a DBA (cannot have corp in name if not incorporated, and I want my domain to reflect my business name from the start). I made some changes thus far, but I am not sure where everything needs to be changed or how exactly I am supposed to do this (services and cnf's, which to edit, which store the original domain name, etc.). below is the list of what I have done to make changes. BTW, I made my server from the template at http://www.howtoforge.com/perfect-server-ubuntu-10.04-lucid-lynx-ispconfig-3, and I chose to install ISPConfig 3.0.4:

I have gone into my web-accessed ISPConfig and made all of the changes to the domain name, and altered the mail accounts for the change.

I echoed hostname with the change, checked the file to make certain.

I altered /etc/hosts to reflect the change

I removed imapd.pem and pop3d.pem, altered their cnf, and remade the certs.

I am not sure of whether or not MySQL has the domain name in its configuration or not, or how to access it properly, or whether I even need to change anything. The same goes for everything else I have installed (apache2, pure-ftpd, etc.). If there is a single one liner that can be used to basically echo the domain name change in EVERYTHING, that would be awesome (highly doubt it though...). I tried googling it and searching the forums, but nothing comes up except for paid hosting services, and that is not what I am doing. I will try and restart my services and reboot the system and see if everything works. Will post back if it does or not. cheers.

To prevent name collisions, a single domain name registration service is used. These are then sub-sold to domain name providers. If you wish to be part of the global domain name system, you must buy your domain name from a domain name provider - it is not a configuration option on your local computer.

They are not free, nominally to discouraged domain name squatting, (but they do make a tidy profit off the service), and to cover the cost of maintaining the domain name system.

You can get free sub-domains from some companies, such as "dyndns", however.

I am not having a problem with the domain name services, I already own myown domain name and have DNS services for pointing my domain name to my server host IP addresses. what my problem is is that I first chose to name the website and company both Kelinacorp, but it is now going to be kelina-enterprises. I need to make all instances of kelinacorp become kelina-enterprises in the host system. I am only running a single host server as of now, but I need to get it up and running in the next 48 hours or so if possible.

Once you have registered a domain name with any registrar like https://domainia.com/register or else, you are allowed to change your primary domain name. But do remember that by changing domain name your website files that is placed at ‘document root’ remains unchanged. All the email accounts and sub domains will be replaced by this new domain.
For doing this you'll need to follow these steps:
• Log in to AMP.
• Click on “change primary domain change” option.
• Here in the dialog box, explanation of all the changes that will take place on domain change is displayed. You will have to agree the terms before proceeding.
• In next dialog box enter your domain name and click on submit button.
• As last, you will be notified with conformation message.
