I want to change my apache web page background

I use Ubuntu Server 10.04 LTS and I would like to change the www web page from the white default sheet with an image or something else. Can someone tell me how to do that??

The background of web pages is not set by the server It just supplies the requested web pages.
The colour must therefor be set in each individual web page either directly or by linking to a style sheet. There are numerous good tutorials on html. The links in the post above are a good start.
