amule package

Not packaged in Focal

Hello,
due to a question in another forum I checked if amule is included in Ubuntu 20.04 Focal Fossa, but it is missing in the package list on packages.ubuntu.com.
If it just not yet packaged or won't it be packaged for 20.04?

Deleted in focal-release (Reason: depends on wxwidget-gtk2 which was removed from Debian)

No. One of its deps has been removed upstream so Ubuntu followed. If you can re-engineer the code to not use that dep then you can package it and use it in Ubuntu

But at least amule-daemon package (so amuled and amuleweb) could be built, without wx-gtk2...

@Dan @Davide. You can download the deb packages needed to implement the daemon only (amule-common_2.3.2-6, amule-daemon_2.3.2-6, amule-utils_2.3.2-6) from the Eoan version. Here the link https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/eoan/+package/amule
Follow the dependencies and install the packages directly from the downloaded deb files.

In my case amule-daemon is working without any issue.

Just in case you need a modern amule web interface instead of the default one: https://github.com/MatteoRagni/AmuleWebUI-Reloaded
