Backport to 16.04LTS?

Like the title says, would it be possible to get the latest version ported to work on 16.04LTS? I don't touch the intermediary releases, and I'd like to have access to the latest stable Amule (the 2.4-git version in 16.04 is not stable at all).

I suggest you report a bug. If the bug and security fixes are significant then the package will be updated sooner rather than later
