aMSN cam+Transmission torrent failure

I can neither get my aMSN webcam to work- it fails to open, nor can I download torrents using Transmission or Opera Browser Torrent- they go into queue, but don't begin downloading. Is this a firewall problem? If so, can someone give me very elementary help instructions.....I'm very new on Ubuntu. Thanks everyone!

Does the webcam work in cheese?

Sounds like your router doesn't suppot uPnP so you will have to set a static port for the torrents and port forward that port from the router to the system's IP. This will make things work nice

I'm sure I don't know what that means so I'll try to hit Google for a tutorial. I very much appreciate your help! :)

The settings will be in transmission. You will also need your routers manual to setup the port forwarding / virtual server.

The webcam I am unknowledgable as I do not use webcams (too creepy) but if it works in cheese then the driver is good
