amavis can't install error

Asked by jerry

Had the same problem-- can't install anything error. I tried this and it solved the problem for me. Using Synaptic-- quick search for amavis then check the item (amavised-new-milter) it was unchecked and not installed in the quick search window. after check on the item the window to mark for removal or complete removal came up-- I selected complete removal. This cleared the amavis error on install when using ubuntu software center. If it caused any other problems I don't know about them at this time. I hope this will help anyone with the same problem.

Sorry if You did not understand. I do not know how to post information to help someone. My only choice was this post. I was not asking for help. I did try to reply to your request. I used reply in evolution e-mail and attached 2 printscreen items for your request. I see they did not show up here. I tried to edit copy to the e-mail-- does not work. I can't include the items here. I can't show you the output from Terminal.

So, How Can I answer Your request when I can't include any output in any manner!

So, Thank You ...

Yes, everything seems ok. updates, installs, uninstalls now work as
well as Synaptic install, uninstall. All day today (update manager)
states updates done less than 1 hour ago. Just ran it again-- same
results. I hope it is not broken. Maybe that is the truth-- time will
tell.
Anyway-- hope the fix for (amavis) will work for other people having
the (no update problem).
Thanks again
