Could you add 7z as external program for more archives?

Asked by Sebastian Mares

Currently, 01-debian has a list with binaries to use for several archive types. Could you extend the list in such a way that 7z is used as alternative for exe, cab, arj, rpm and rar? Currently, only cabextract is used for cab, arj/unarj for arj, etc.

You can run:

sudo apt-get install p7zip-full

And extract 7zip files, or is this not what you mean, please?

Even with p7zip-full with p7zip-rar installed, I am getting warnings on amavis start like

No ext program for .arj, tried: arj, unarj
No ext program for .cab, tried: cabextract
No ext program for .rpm, tried: rpm2cpio.pl, rpm2cpio
No ext program for .rar, tried: unrar-free
...
