After upgrade to Kubuntu 11.04, I lost sound from ONLY Amarok to my Logitech USB headphones. All other system sounds worked, and sound worked for browser, and a fresh install of Banshee.

I posed the question on a KDE forum along with my local Ubuntu user group.
The follow-up from the KDE forum lead to an answer. You may read the details there. The link starts with my initial posting.

The essence of a solution was to un-mute the Amarok playback using "pavucontrol" which I needed to install. I had never knowingly muted Amarok. I cannot find anywhere to do that within Amarok or the standard system settings.

I still think there's some issue with the upgrade process that might be fixable.
Good luck.
