After some digging, I found out that the record companies have, in effect, turned of the retrieval of lyrics from lyricwiki.org by Amarok's jukebox software.

Is there an alternative to lyricswiki.org where lyrics can be obtained using Amarok? I'm very upset with the record companies right now. It is as though they do not want us to enjoy their product unless we pay for everything we do with it... and if we don't pay, they want us to suffer. I'm not talking about pirating... I just want to see the lyrics displayed in Amarok like it used to.

Is there an alternative site where Amarok can retrieve lyrics?

I don't like the record companies treating us like criminals because we want to enoy the music and sing along. When my wife was little she spent years singing Elton John's song "Tiny Dancer" with the wrong words. She kept singing "Tony Danza" by mistake. We need to stop these embarrassing moments so more children aren't scarred for life!

(Hey, usually politicians appeal to our desire to "save the children," so I thought I'd give it a shot. Nobody answered my questions last time.)
