Amarok iPod transfer begins, works briefly, then fails

Asked by ephonk

I am using Feisty Kubuntu. The iPod mounts automatically ok, I can see and manage files on it ok, Amarok can connect to it and see the files. All good so far.

The problem happens with the transfer. I queue up 40 or so tracks for transfer, start the transfer, a few get transferred ok, but every track queued up after that throws an error. Anything I add to the queue after this point will throw this error.

I did NOT attempt to import my iTunes database. I ripped these tracks directly from the CDs as mp3's using K3b. All ripped mp3's play well in Amarok. Ire-initialized the iPod before beginning to ensure it was clean.

What tha' heck am I missing? Are there Amarok logfiles somewhere I can check for more info?

Thanx...

Figured it out. I thought I was initializing the iPod, but in fact I was screwing it up.

To fix, I rebooted into Windows, deleted all files from the iPod, started iTunes and let it repair the iPod system. Then everything seemed to work better back in Amarok.

Thanx...
