Amarok problems after re-installing Java

Asked by Vanostaajen

In the beginning my ubuntu 8.10 was working fine, but lately it starts taking a lot of process speed after working for a while. but for no apparent reason(the only link between all events was that I was using Firefox). So I checked my processes and I saw java taking up to 50-60% of my processors. So I figured I might solve the problem by reinstalling the Java packages with synaptic pm. So I did that, and so far the problem hasn't bothered me but unfortunately Amarok has an error now: at startup it says:

"There was an error setting up inter-process communications for KDE. The message returned by the system was:

Could not open network socket

Please check that the "dcopserver" program is running!"

So does anybody know what I should do?

Thanks!

Is dcopserver running? I guess this should be the first thing that should be checked. But I don't know from where you can get this software. It's not included in Synaptic. Ans also Add / Remove doesn't support it. Hope you will get a wise answer.
