$ sudo apt-get install gtkpod
After installation, it's going to appear in Applications > Sound & Video.

If that didn't help , there are ten more ways !!

Hi, Amarok 2, under KDE 4 on Ubuntu 8.10 will work with a 4th gen nano. I had started with gnome and added KDE later - a matter of installed the package with synaptic, then selecting the proper session when you log in - and it works for me, sound and everything. Amarok 2 also seems to have picked up the settings from 1.4.

When I was using Amarok 1.4 under gnome, it wouldn't autodetect my ipod, but the KDE4/Amarok 2 combination does. It doesn't eject properly, that is to say, the screen on the ipod doesn't do the little countdown thing, but it seems to be stable regardless.

It does work, post again if you need any more info.

Can you help with this problem?
