Can not change Tags in Amaraok

Asked by BartGunn

Hi,
I'm trying to change the genre of a bulk of albums at the same time and I am getting the message 'Sorry, the tag for the following files could not be changed:'. I've tried changing the albums individually also, but no luck. Why do I not have the privilege to make such simply changes on my own files here?
Thanks
Bart

Not related to Amarok but to get best experience changing tags to audio files try Ex Falso

To install exfalso

Please first enable the universe repository:

Open System → Administration → Software sources → [ Tab Ubuntu software ]
enable "Community Maintained open source software (universe)"
Close and confirm the repository reload.

Then open a Terminal from the menu Applications → Accessories → Terminal and type:

sudo aptitude update
sudo aptitude install exfalso

give your user password when requested, you don't see nothing when you type it, then press enter.

You will find Ex Falso under Applications → Sound & video

Hope this helps

Works an absolute trreat and got me to use a Terminal for the 1st time too, which I had been wary of doing as I am a Linux/Ubuntu novice.
Much appreciated!!
