can't have 5.1...

I can't have 5.1 sound from Amarok.

I mean he mp3 files are not 5.1 but then I should hear from all 5 speakers. But this is not happening. Not sound is even coming from centre speaker. When I play songs from Windows Media Player I hear from all speakers. But in Kubuntu on Amarok I only hear from front 2 speakers and no sound is coming from centre and rear speakers.

Then secondly, I played movie from Kaffeine and still I can't have proper 5.1. No sound from rear speakers and very low voice from centre.

Please help me...

try this out:

hit alt+F2 and type in:
sudo kedit /etc/pulse/daemon.conf

enter your password when prompted, then search the file for the entry that looks like this:

; default-sample-channels = 2

change it to this:

default-sample-channels = 6

save, close, and restart, and it should work nicely for you!
