I did it with an amarok scipt - I'm assuming you're ruinning ubuntu.

Open amarok - Tools menu - Script manager - get more scipts - then search for Gnome Multimedia keys and install. When it has installed go back to script manager and run the new script.

Hope that helps

I had the same problem (ubuntu hardy), and this solution worked nicely.

The only hitch was that in the "Get more scripts" dialogue box, there was no search function, and Gnome Multimedia Keys did not appear. I downloaded the script from here http://kde-apps.org/content/show.php?content=60910 and then installed and ran it.

Thanks josef!
