why is amarock so difficult for me?

the list of problems is sooo long, I don't know where to begin. but it's the best media player i've found since joining the dark side. exaile blows, songbird blows, etc... almost has me wishing for WMP. ok here's my problems:

takes forever to load

when it does finally load, i click on a track, and viola! it jumps around to something else and still doesn't play! and i have to exit amarock and click on it again! Yay!

here's the biggest problem:

if i want to hear another song, good luck. it'll take a minute, or more likely 5 if I'm lucky. i'll click on amarock on the toolbar, and nothing but blank white space. it almost has to be the perfect moment, when I want to hear a song and it'll work.

maybe you set your music collection refreshing too often?

what version of amarok do you use?

whatever the latest version is. how could i have set it to that? A way to change? And another problem, the screen that notifies you of the info when a new song is being played, it stays on my screen. I appreciate the help. I haven't any luck with any media player since the switch.

you can update your amarok manually by typing

sudo apt-get install amarok

in terminal

you can check the current version of this and any other package by typing:

apt-cache policy amarok

also in terminal

that on screen informations are called OSD

if you go to the settings page in amarok, you will se an icon with OSD, you can change the settings as you want, you can of course turn off theese informations
