No, I remember there was a cover of the album being played right under the album (this, of course, in the collection tab)

Is only the _actual_ cover not shown, or is Amarok's generic cover (CD + Case) neither?

The generic case isn't shown. I have spent another hour looking everywhere, I just can't find the thing !

Ok, this is very strange, there is simply no option to deactivate the cover there. You might try to refetch the actual cover in Cover Manager or Context Tab.

Woah.. It must have went away on its own and I assumed I had deactivated it by accident.
I played around with pretty much everything relating to covers in every possible way..
I just tried removing amarok and amarok-xine and reinstalling it, and it's still the same problem.
What bugs me is I tried to do a complete removal but it still kept my library and my settings.

Covers show correctly on the cover manager, the context tab. They display correctly in the OSD when a song changes..

The thing just vanished from the collection tab.

Well, I suggest to play with the settings in collection tab. There is really no way to make the covers disappear, but for example the cover only appears for actually "opened" albums, so if you click the + infront of the album name so it lists the songs you should see the cover.
