Amarok temporarily freezes while switching songs

Asked by tsukiyomi100

I'm running Amarok 1.4.7 on Ubuntu Gutsy. The problem occurs when I try to switch to another track. When I switch to another song the audio starts playing fine but Amarok hangs for 3-4 seconds before it shows the OSD preview. I tried to disable the OSD preview, but Amarok still hangs.

I have my music files on my windows partition (if that affects the performance) and I have not tried to move the files on to the Linux partition.

How many song do you have in your collection over all, and in how many in your playlist?

I have about 2000 songs in my collection. Also, this problem happens no matter what size my playlist is...I have had this problem when my playlist is small (2-5 songs) or when its large (entire collection).

Thank you for the suggestion....Give me one or two days and i'll let you know if switching to the linux partition fixed it.

Btw: My Windows partition is NTFS.
