Zen V Plus, direct playback from Amarok

Asked by alekies

I have been able to get Amarok to recognize my Creative Zen V Plus player as an MTP device. My problem is that I can't seem to play the files in Amarok directly from my device. What can I do? I know the Creative software that came with my mp3 player could do this, so there must be some way to do the same in Amarok.

Sorry if I'm vague, I don't really know what details to mention. Will provide them as needed.

There is no such functionality in Amarok 1.4. Though there might be in 2.x (which is kind of far away ;-).

Anyway, if you can access the device with a file manager (i.e. mount it into your filesystem - just like an usb stick or something) then you can create a generic media device in Amarok which accesses your device by mounting it and playing from that mount (to setup a generic device have a look at the protable device section of Amarok's configurations).
If this doesn't work either, you can't do that at all (at least for now).
