I just switched my computer from windows to linux, and most of my music collection (at least 100GB) is in .ape format. Is there a MediaMonkey clone or a way to use amarok to organize my library?

Demha,

Unfortunately the .APE format is a proprietary format and so there are few options available on the Linux platform.

Looking in the Ubuntu software repositories, there seems to be one player which might be able to play these files: http://packages.ubuntu.com/gutsy/sound/jlgui

This can be installed by entering the following command into a terminal window:

"sudo aptitude install jlgui"

Good luck!

Chris

Is there a program for Ubuntu/Kubuntu that allows the user to convert the .APE files into a non-proprietary format like ogg or FLAC?
