problem with asrock g41m-vs (sound card(build in))

i have a problem with my asrock g41m-vs (sound card(build in)) (that i can't active the surround sound option coz there is not option like that in sound preferences ) and i know that my sound card support that option in windows XP i want to now how can i solve the problem with ubuntu 9.10
(i'm new user in linux)
