ALSA driver not installed anymore -> sound stopped working on my Dell Latitude D810 on Ubuntu 9.10
I did a clean install of Ubuntu 9.10 on a Dell latitude D810. Sound work at first and then stopped. See pastbin:

Your ALSA output shows the following issue:

So the ALSA driver is not installed anymore on your pc.
Please execute step 1, then reboot and resend us the full terminal output from step 3 and step 4 from this procedure:
