i have sound problem with open arena

i have a problem with the sound when i open open arena to play it just makes distorted sounds tell it desides it wants to work right. have tried uninstall and reinstall ,, but that did not help. ubuntu 9.10..

i found an answer but forgot the number of it ;;;; but if you search sound problem with open arena it will take you to a web page that might help some people it helped me for now!!!!!! thank you
