no output in my headset (micro)

Hello, when I use skype, I can hear the other person but the other person cannot hear me. I use Ubuntu Netbook Remix 9.10. thank you in advance for your help!

Are you using an acer aspire one?

My microphone wasn't working with ubuntu ntebook 9.04 on my aspire one. I fixed it installing the most recent version of alsa as explained in:
http://monespaceperso.org/blog-en/2009/02/10/acer-aspire-6920-no-sound-on-ubuntu-810-upgrade-of-alsa/

I haven't tested it in 9.10.

If the problem is the same, your microphone is not working at all (i.e, not just with skype). You can check it trying to record something with sound recorder (in the sound & video menu)
