HP Pavilion DV3 (dv3510nr) and HDA Intel : IDT 92HD7187X audio issue

Asked by leobotelho@hotmail.com

Hello everyone
I really want to became a Ubuntu user, but unfortunately I'm having problems to get my audio working. Basically I'm trying the all troubleshootings possible to get it done, but I already had to reinstall the Ubuntu three times because the damages I already had trying things.
Now I'm running 9.10 version with ALSA v1.0.21 in my HP Pavilion DV3 series (dv3510nr).
I could find many others user of HDA Intel : IDT 92HD7187X with similar problems around the forums. The ones I tried, that I can remember, were:
https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver/+question/14434
https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/71735
http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=502741

And others.
I checked the mute to be sure I wasn't doing anything stupid. Actually the microphone meter shows me that it is working. But the audio is ZERO.
I tried to add in the “etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf” the lines below, changing the model to many different, but nothing came up.
Lines added:
# Keep snd-pcsp from being loaded as first soundcard
options snd-pcsp index=-2
alias snd-card-0 snd-hda-intel
alias sound-slot-0 snd-hda-intel
options snd-hda-intel model=3stack-dig
options snd-hda-intel enable_msi=1
options snd-hda-intel single_cmd=1

I checked user and root groups as pulse, pulse-access, audio, and video, but I couldn't find the pulse-rt, which maybe is missing at 9.10.

I ran the alsa.info.sh, which gave the follow result
http://www.alsa-project.org/db/?f=d40bf1b3bdd0ac2dc8d936a6e6eebb0ada096539

I don't know what else I can do. This is the only limitation that is holding me out the Linux world. Without audio there is no way to have Ubuntu as my primary OS.

I would be more than thankful in having some help. I'm not the limited guy ever, but I'm not the best hacker ever.

I'm sorry everyone, but after trying for months and write the bunch of lines above, I finally have audio. What I basically did was upgrade the ALSA to v1.0.21, which is possible to find at "http://monespaceperso.org/blog-en/2009/05/09/upgrade-alsa-1020-on-ubuntu-jaunty-904/", and then, after that, stupidly I tried, after the upgrade, to add again that freak lines on my "etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf”, but using the model below

# Keep snd-pcsp from being loaded as first soundcard
options snd-pcsp index=-2
alias snd-card-0 snd-hda-intel
alias sound-slot-0 snd-hda-intel
options snd-hda-intel model=hp-dv5
options snd-hda-intel enable_msi=1

and it WORKED FINALLY !!!!

The lines that worked I got at https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver/+question/78023, where is the idea to other possible models to make it work.

Cheers.
