Sound driver

Why i can't hear my sound. my sound card was worked on windows. plz give a easy solution, Because i m new in linux

Ya my mother broad have a sound Card, but i was disable onbroad sound card.

I strongly suggest following this procedure:

1. First turn off your pc
2. Physically remove the Creative Labs Ectiva EV1938 from your pc
3. Turn the pc on and enable the on-board audio chip via the BIOS configuration menu
3. If sound still does not work using the enabled on-board audiochip, please send us the output from step 3 and step 4 from the following procedure:

Mark my on board sound card has some trouble. so i want to use this Creative Labs Ectiva EV1938 on ubuntu.
