No sound after update from 20.10 to 21.04

There is no way to get Ubuntu 21.04 to play a sound on my machine. I have tried the usual tricks like deleting config files, reinstalling packages. Sound works well on the same machine running Debian from another partition.
I attach output from an ALSA diagnostic script.

Sound works with 5.8 kernel from previous distro. Interestingly, this kernel is working with nouveau. The 5.11 didn't have sound, but had nvidia-340 working.

Well it's a PC, so there shouldn't be much difference. Nothing happens when I plug either headphones or a speaker into the green socket alone (or any other socket). But I do get sound in the headphones connected to the orange, black or grey socket provided that the speaker is connected to the green socket (no sound in it). I'd like to have sound output in the green socket and microphone in the red one – that's all I need.
