Upgraded to 9.04 now sound doesn't work

Upgraded to 9.04 from 8.10 now I have no sound at all the integrated sound card is a Via Hyperion Pro I have checked to make sure the sound channels are not muted they are not, not certain why I have no sound at all

I followed those and I still have no sound, I am a newbie to linux and Ubuntu here is the link I received from the ALSA project

Problem solved atleast for now I had to install a new sound card and it worked right away
