Updated the kernel 5.4.0.71 and now sound pref hdmi off

I have 20.04 working fine with sound via hdmi . I updated the kernel along with other packages and now there is no sound output. After further investigation sound-preferences although it does have the Fenghuang HDMi/DP audio controller it is disabled and I cannot enable.

I followed the debug steps and here is the script output.

No just tried going back to .65 and still same issue. Maybe one of the other updates then. I thought it might be the kernel as there was a comment in the change log about a fix for sound over hdmi on intel.
I have just also tried updating my motherboard bios to the latest as there was a comment about some sound over hdmi issues but this didn't fix it either. The only thing changed was an update so wasn't expecting the bios to fix it.

Oh also updated to 5.4.0-72-generic this hasn't made a difference still not able to enable hdmi audio

Installed pavucontrol. Under config Raven/.... HDMI profile it says (unplugged) (unavailable). Something is failing at the driver level I guess need to understand where/how to get some debug.

Just realised that the computer has lost the Display info. If you run displays then the monitor comes back as Unknown /default.

OK i have solved the issue. I had to upgrade the amd graphics driver to amdgpu-pro-20.50-1234664-ubuntu-20.04. Displays then showed the display info and the hdmi audio worked again. Thanks for all the help/time guys sorry I didn't spot the fact that the monitor info had been lost also.
