Microphone works for a few minutes then stops working after reboot. Was working for months.

The microphone worked for awhile after i messed with the alsa conf file. But recently it only works for about 2 minutes after a reboot and then stops working altogether.

fyi neither internal mic nor mic in my headset works after a few minutes.
