I have ubuntu 20.04, and my sound mute button is not working and just shows the mute always, not toggle

I am using ubuntu 20.04, and I am also a newbie. I have a problem with the sound button. The mute button is always on and does not toggle again. So, I can not use the speaker on my laptop. I need to use a Bluetooth device or headphones for each activity. please suggest me the solution. Thank you.
