how to install ct4780 sound blaster live on ubuntu 20.04

it's plugged in and selected in sound settings but the output is very low. are there any linux drivers for SBLive?

The card uses the snd-emu10k1 module. It is probably already loaded (or you wouldn't see the device and hear sound).
You may want to try making adjustments in alsamixer.
