Debugging sound not working in Ubuntu 20.04

I just installed Ubuntu 20.04 on my machine, but I can't seem to get the machine to produce any sound, either through HDMI or through DisplayPort. This only appears to be a problem in Ubuntu, as the same machine produces sound just fine through both HDMI and DisplayPort when I'm using a different operating system. The way sound is usually produced with this machine is through the Asus monitor that it is connected to.

Only when Linux is running does no sound come out. Looking inside the Sound Settings, the levels seem to show that there should be sound coming out, but actually no sound.

Not really sure how to proceed.
