No sound output
All settings seem ok, sound not muted, card recognized, driver installed
Even input seems to be working (graph in mic settings reacts to sound)
It was working until yesterday. Around the time I installed Kteatime it stopped working. Already removed but still not working.
Maybe related to alsamixer settings? There are so many for this card [bytcr-rt5651]

Installed, restarted, no difference there.
Test sound does not work.
sudo aplay /usr/share/
returns
Playing WAVE '/usr/share/
forever, with no sound output.
List any troubleshooting information needed.

Had tried most of it until here:
sudo modprobe snd-rt5651
sudo modprobe snd-bytcr-rt5651
Commands both return:
modprobe: FATAL: Module snd-bytcr-rt5651 not found in directory /lib/modules/
I installed the driver manually using the instructions here:
https:/
And it worked for a while and then stopped working when I installed some applications.
sudo aptitude --purge reinstall linux-sound-base alsa-base alsa-utils linux-image-`uname -r` linux-ubuntu-
Returns aptitude command not found
I'd really appreciate some guidance here. Thank you!

EDIT: Installation of the driver was before this question was originally posted, just adding context. The driver made it work, then stopped working, then I came here for help.
