No sound when Built-in Audio Digital Stereo (HDMI) is selected in pavucontrol.
No sound when Built-in Audio Digital Stereo (HDMI) is selected in pavucontrol.
But when Built-in Audio Analog Stereo is selected in pavucontrol sound works perfectly.
The meters in the Playback tab of pavucontrol work as expected in both cases. The only difference is when HDMI is selected there is no sound.
The Displayport cable is plugged in to my Displayport monitor with speakers and an audio out cable is plugged into a pair of external speakers.
I have checked the hardware configuration of the monitor and the PC and they both seem to be configured correctly.
