Nvidia HDMI Audio Stutter on new Installation 16.04LTS

Asked by Removed by request

I have a fresh install of Ubuntu 16.04 LTS and have updated my drivers for my nvidia GTX 970 graphics card. I use this card for outputting audio and video to a surround receiver. I have windows 7 on dual boot and I have no issues with sound when using windows. The only thing I have found that alleviates this issue at all is adjusting the volume up and down quickly and constantly. I have attempted the position fix=1, tsched=0, changing the default sample rate to 48000 and nothing seems to work. I have run the info.sh script and it is listed here http://www.alsa-project.org/db/?f=f08795a4eb7e1eed37ab91b8957a5bd7e227576f Thanks for your help!

I have also found that this problem persists across multiple OS, I had the same issue in Suse 42.3

Have you tried disabling power saving in the driver module?

May help

I have not tried disabling power saving. How would I go about this? I haven't been able to find any answers from Google. Thanks.

At the end of the line with position fix, add:

power_save=0
