I need a solution on how to fix or enable my built-in microphone.

Asked by Cencere Wilson

When I first installed ubuntu on my PC, i noticed that my built-in microphone wasn't working like normal. When I spoke, no sound was recorded. I don't know any fixes, but all I know is how my built-in microphone could have been disabled. Then again, I know no solution. I am currently running Ubuntu 17.04 zesty (x86_64) on an HP Touchsmart300 Desktop. My kernel is 4.10.0-19-generic (the kernel with working sound)

Status Update: New Problem.
My microphone will not pick up any sounds, and it isn't an option on the input devices. Only the headphones (don't have) and Line in. Could anyone provide a link to a fix or a command that does something TO fix it? That would be thankful of anyone

PROBLEM NOT SOLVED.
