I see that you enabled following model option which I think is unnecessary:

snd_hda_intel: model=pch position_fix=1

I suggest removing the model option again.

Then upgrade your BIOS from version F.14 to F.19 as mentioned here:

After upgrading the BIOS and after removing all ALSA model options (including model=pch) from your /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf configuration file, the audio output should work out-of-the-box.....

You should also unmute and increase volume to 100% on the headphone channel in alsamixer.....

Upgraded BIOS to F.19 (Sorry this took awhile since this laptop's native OS is OS X
and
removed the pch model.

Still no go.
No sound.

:(

I'm starting to think that the sound card hardware has failed.

I attempted to run a component test using the HP UEFI component test.
No sound there as well.

I'm fearing the worse.
