IDT intergrated sound card with Intel MoBo DP45SG won't work???

I installed ubuntu in my custom built pc with a intel DP45SG with IDT intergraded sound . and no sound?? now i am not a developer,nor programmer and have limited knowledge . but i build pc's. and i like ubuntu. so please be simple.ha thanks.
