Changing the default sound driver...

Asked by WAiWiA

Hi. I recently installed the creative x-fi sound drivers. The installation did appear to have completed succesfully.
Yet, i cannot get the new driver to be the default one.
When i type >aplay -l, I see the xfi card (displayed as card 1), but the on-board card is listed as card 0. I am assuming I need to switch this around to get the x-fi card to be default? If so, does anyone know how?

I still am a n00b when it comes to playing with drivers in linux.
Would appreciate if anyone can help me.

You will have to go into your BIOS and deactivate the onboard sound device. It is creating a conflict.
