Internal Speaker not working, headphone and external speakers are working

Asked by Mohamed

Hi,

I installed 16.04 LTS as dual boot along with windows 7 in my wipro laptop. Cannot hear anything with internal speakers in ubuntu, however headphones and external speakers work fine in ubuntu and internal speakers work fine in windows 7. I pasted the ALSA information link below. Any help to resolve the issue would be great.

PS: I am a linux newbie and sorry if i have got some of the terminology wrong.

Please open a Terminal and run the following commands:

sudo apt-add-repository ppa:ubuntu-audio-dev/alsa-daily

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install linux-headers-4.10.0-21-generic

sudo apt-get install linux-image-4.10.0-21-generic

sudo apt-get install linux-image-extra-4.10.0-21-generic

sudo apt-get install oem-audio-hda-daily-dkms

Then reboot and retest sound output using headphones and speakers.

Make sure that all channels are unmuted and increased to 100% volume in alsamixer.

Can you help with this problem?
