USB Speakers Cut Out in Ubuntu 16.04

Asked by Nathan Zastrow on 2017-05-15

Without any purposeful changes made to my system, all of the sudden my Logitech V20 USB laptop speakers have begun to cut out while using Ubuntu 16.04. Sometimes it's a matter of thirty seconds, other times it's five minutes, but they go silent. They work again after unplugging them and then plugging in again. Have you tried a different USB port?

After multiple attempts at various solutions, and restarting after each one, the problem has finally gone away. I cannot say for sure what did it, but thanks for the consideration!
