After upgrade to 17.04 and new installation of 16.04 no sound

after using the following command

It is solved right now

The ALSA driver and configuration was fine, the problem was the audio chipset was somehow not working properly after the upgrade. I boot from a USB, check the audio and that corrected the problem. From there it worked just fine.
