Sound drivers

Dear sir,

My Mother board has onboard realteck Audio card. According to the details of the booklet it has Realtek 6-channel Audio Codec, and supports s/PDIF output, Jack Sensing Function, Intel High definition Audio. Mother bord is eSys 945GC/945G. I was recently install UBUNTU to my maching and working fine except sound. Please help me to solve this proble. I have a driver cd for this M board but it hasnt comes with Linux drivers.

Open the Synaptic Package Manager (System >> Administration). Do a search for Alsa and see if (a) Alsa-base and (b) Alsa-utils are installed. If these are installed, try System >> Preferences >> Sound and see what devices are listed as being used for the various events. You could try changing to driver that has (Alsa) in its name and see if that makes a difference.
