Sound Problem Cirrus Logic
Hello,
since yesterday i had some problems with my soundcard. A few days ago i made a fresh installation of Ubuntu 6.10. All works fine. After an automatic upgrade the sound didn't work possible as mistake of any lib.
I looked in google and many other information but i didn't found any mistake.
I use a IBM Thinkpad T21:

I've checked the internal speaker and external speakers - nothing works.
Any idea? and sorry for my broken english.

Do this:
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
And upgrade your kernel... Maybe it will fix it!

After that i do a sound check: System -> Preferences -> Sound
I test the option: Auto, Alsa, cs46xx
Sorry but it didn't work. After that i reboot and do the test again. The results are the same: There isn't any sound.
One more idea?

I looked in many forums in the internet for this problem. Is there any way to do a reconfigure for the sound device.
Additonal I'll do a search in the ubuntufoums.

Hi,
today I solved my problem. I've done the following steps:
/etc/init.
etc/init.
After these steps the sound was fine.
