No sound on speakers ubuntu 16.04. Laptop dell precision 5510

Asked by Guilherme Wunsch

Hi, I'm a new Ubuntu/linux user and I've got my laptop with Ubuntu 14.04 installed. After upgrading to 16.04, I've noticed my audio wasn't working. At that point, after searching the internet, I've managed to make my earphones work.

I used to need to reboot my computer and adjust the alsamixer manually to get them to work everytime. After some more tweaking by reading internet forums, I've managed to have alsamixer with bars at maximum on reboot. I've noticed that unlikely a friend's notebook, the GUI volume control on my laptop is not connected with the alsamixer (alsamixer does not change with GUI volume control). The problem is I still couldn't manage to get my speakers to work.
I've tried a bunch of different solutions, and nothing has helped.

When I ran `wget -O alsa-info.sh http://www.alsa-project.org/alsa-info.sh && chmod +x ./alsa-info.sh && ./alsa-info.sh`, I got this:

Do any of you guys know what might be happening? Thanks!

Thanks in advance
