Toascam us 16x08 functionality in Ubuntu 16.04

Hi,
I'm a newbie to Linux. I would like to use the Toascam us 16x08 with Ardour or Audacity. Or whatever program will allow overdubbing. At the least, I will need to be able to set line outs 1 & 2 to master L and R. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for any help.
