If you are using a Dell XPS released in November 2015, it is probably a better idea to test an Ubuntu version released in 2016.

In this case, you are trying to run late 2015 hardware on 2014 software.

So I suggest testing Ubuntu 16.04 in a LiveUSB Session.

If everything works out-of-the-box in Ubuntu 16.04, I suggest installing Ubuntu 16.04.

I suspect that your PC's CPU is a Skylake CPU, which - in my humble opinion - requires Ubuntu 16.04 or newer.

I had a similar problem with my Skylake PC.....

Can you help with this problem?
