No sound in Ubuntu-wily
I had volume on mute for a while, so I don't know when exactly did the sound disappear. Removing configs and reinstalling pulseaudio did not help. On the page below is the output from alsa information script.

Have you checked some simple things with the command alsamixer from a terminal? It could be something as simple as the Master channel being muted, which you can toggle by selecting it with the arrow keys and then pressing the "m" key. If you don't see a Master channel, make sure you have the proper audio device selected by pressing "F6".

Checked alsamixer, everything is unmuted, problem is not there.

Apparently if in dual boot you mute the sound in Windows, there is no sound on Ubuntu and there is no way to unmute it without switching the OS...
